Competitive Intelligence and Proposal Manager

Supervisor: Director of Business Development and Marketing

Summary of Position:

The primary role of the Competitive Intelligence and Proposal Manager is to manage:

  • Proposals, responses to RFPs, and RFP and pitch presentations, inclusive of tracking, analysis and reporting of outcome and current/prospective client feedback
  • Competitive and market intelligence, including briefing books/research on current (for cross-selling opportunity identification and strategy) and prospective clients
  • Legal rankings, including Chambers, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers (partner with business development professionals and web/experience specialist within department)
  • General survey questions and submissions
  • Experience database and proposal pilot, including data collection, retention, purposing and analysis to identify new ways to market Firm and attorneys, potential niche practices the Firm should consider for lateral hiring purposes, etc. (partner with business development professionals and web/experience specialist within department)
  • Partner with Communications Team to write up and submit practice group, industry team and attorney award nominations
  • Strategy materials and research (laterals and law firm intelligence with assistance from Communications Team and Recruiting and Professional Development Department)

Assist with

  • Bio, practice group, industry team and specialty practice group write-ups using AP style, consistency, and tone and voice of newly established brand One-sheet, brochure, white papers and other related collateral development
  • Ongoing experience database phases/enhancements, such as Aderant integration

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have:

  • Understanding of relational databases
  • The ability to organize large amounts of content in a logical manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent proofreading skills to align with AP Style
  • Worked in a legal environment and have the knowledge and capacity to adhere to the Firm’s administrative operations and policies and procedures
  • The ability to confidently interact with all levels of management
  • Must be self-motivated in completing tasks w/o supervision and work well under time-sensitive schedules
